Hey there! Clove here, yes thats right Clove, NOT CloveR, you know the little black spice you put in apple pie? Anyway, we reckoned it was about time we let you lot know who runs this site, bet you weren't expecting me eh? I may be little, and don't let those goofy ears fool you, I'm smarter than you think. I'm 3 1/2 years, born in May 2003 and started this site in November 2005 with a little help from the family of course, who I'll introduce you to in a minute.
I enjoy nothing more than adventuring, lI ove to explore new areas of my warren, especially those places I am not allowed, like behind mum's desk and behind that tasty little lavender bush in the garden, no matter how mum tries to block it, I'll find a way in. Favourite foods at the minute are apple, carrot and celery leaves, and I say at the minute, because according to my mum I am fussy, but really its just I am quite refined in my tastes. I am very fond of cardboard as well, there is nothing better than starting off with a cardboard box and battering and chewing it down to nothing with the help of my fellow long eared accomplice, aka Fudge.
Fudge is my not only my sister, but my best friend, and we have always been together, she is a little bigger than me, and so she calls me runty, but I call her stoopid as she just isn't as smart as
me, but don't tell her I said that! Fudge has a habit of being greedy, mum always has to make sure I get my fair share of veggies as she'd scoff the lot! Fudge says her favourite foods are herbs and apple, but I don't think that she could possibly taste her food at the rate she scoffs it down. Fudge isn't quite as adventurous as me, and instead prefers to re-arrange things and loves nothing more than to fling things or push boxes out of the way.
Anyway, guess I should introduce you to my annoying baby brother and sister......Here is Bailey, he is actually very sweet and laid back but has the most annoying habit of grooming himself all the time, guess I should be grateful I have a short coat and not a puffy one like his! haha! He takes everything in his stride and has proven himself a bit of a houdini as he somehow managed to escape from his cage as mum forgot the wire mesh on his cage one night and we found him at the living room door the next morning looking really sleepy. He was okay though and didn't chew through any wires.....doubt that would have happened if it had been Bronwyn though, or Fudge for that matter. His favourite foods are anything leafy and green, and he has just celebrated his second birthday on the 26th October, so hes getting on a bit. He'd kill me if I told you this but because of his aging he is going a little bit bald on his belly...haha!! Mum says I shouldn't laugh and should just appreciate the time he is with us.....hopefully he'll be around for a good while yet!
Sadly Bailey left a big whole in our hearts as he passed away in his sleep on 26th Janauary 2007, aged 2 years, 3 months. See his memorial page here .
This is my youngest sibling, Bronwyn, and she is nearly 2years old, her birthday is the 12th April and she is always on the go once is awake. When she first arrived she was very noisy,
and the breeder said she was the noisiest hamster they had had in the hamstery for a few years. She has since quieten down, but shes not afraid to tell you how she feels and still remains the most vocal out of us four. Her favourite foods are pear and hard boiled egg....eugh vegetarian here.....vegan in fact! Bronwyn is always happy to come out for a play and looks so funny when she stuffs her little pouches! Her other hobby is ripping up and shredding toilet paper which she makes cute little nests in. Mum says the toilet paper is much safer than that horrible old wool you get in pet shops!

Finally, my last sibling.....and oldest (and smelliest) is Hannah, who is a 6 year old airedale terrier, and doesn't really relate to this site, but nevertheless, mum says has every right to be included. She is very big, and can be a bit scary when she barks, but as the saying goes her bark is worse than her bite. We are all used to her barking, which she only does when defending the warren from intruders, mainly that bloke who insists on posting bits of paper through our door...the cheek of him and he comes back everyday, sometimes even twice in one day! Anyway, like all dogs, Hannah enjoys nothing more than eating, walks, sleep and did I mention eating? She'd do anything for food, a bit like Fudge. I eat to live, but those two.....they live to eat! Hannah doesn't really have a favourite food, she'd eat anything...literally! As loveable as she looks, she does have some bad habits, like stealing slippers and tissues....which keeps me amused anyway.
So thats the siblings out of the way, and I'd love to introduce you to mum, but the only pictures I have of her at the minute are of her legs, with me sitting or Fudge sitting on them. She is very camera shy, so maybe one day I will get a picture of her and post it on here.
Well I guess I have kept you amused long enough, so adios mis amigos!
Bye Bye!
Clove xx
